By using our Platform, you provide free, informed, and explicit consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy.

We collect personal information to enable rentals, payments, trust, and safety across our peer-to-peer marketplace.

a) Account Information

b) Marketplace Information

To facilitate rentals, we collect:

d) Usage & Technical Data

e) Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from trusted third-party service providers, including:

• Stripe (payment processor): payment confirmations, transaction status, payout details, refund records, and limited payment card information such as the last four digits of a payment card.
• Easyship (shipping partner): shipment tracking information, shipping status updates, delivery confirmations, and shipping rate data.

Third-party providers process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

We may offer optional AI-powered tools to enhance listing images on the Platform. When you use these features:

• Your uploaded image may be securely transmitted to a third-party AI provider, including Replicate, for processing.
• AI technologies may generate edited or enhanced versions of your image for purposes such as background enhancement, lighting adjustments, formatting, or listing optimization.
• Generated images may be reviewed by Platform administrators before being published publicly on the Platform.

We do not use your uploaded images to train AI models.

Our AI service providers process uploaded images transiently for the purpose of generating requested outputs and are contractually required to handle data in accordance with applicable privacy obligations.

AI-generated listing images may be identified or labeled on the Platform where appropriate.

With your express consent, listing images — including AI-enhanced images — may also be used by the Platform for marketing and promotional purposes, including social media, digital advertising, and other promotional channels.

You may withdraw consent to marketing use at any time by contacting us or through available account settings, where applicable.

We use personal information to:

• Operate the peer-to-peer rental marketplace
• Facilitate transactions between users
• Support shipping, pick-up, and return logistics
• Manage disputes, damage claims, and reimbursements
• Maintain platform safety, fraud prevention, and trust systems
• Enforce platform policies and terms

Because this is a peer-to-peer marketplace, certain information must be shared to complete rentals.

Shared with Lenders:

• Renter name and booking details
• Shipping or pick-up information
• Sizing or fit-related information (if provided)

Shared with Renters:

• Lender name or profile information
• Item listing and condition details
• Logistics details (pickup/shipping/return)

We only share information that is necessary to facilitate and complete a rental.

Wear Something Borrowed operates as a hybrid fashion rental platform. In some cases, we act as an intermediary between independent Lenders and Renters, and in other cases, we directly own and rent certain inventory ("Platform-Owned Items").

Platform Role

For Lender-Owned Items, we act as a marketplace facilitator connecting users and enabling payments, communication, and logistics.

For Platform-Owned Items, we act as the direct rental provider responsible for fulfilling rentals in accordance with applicable policies.

Listings clearly identify whether items are Lender-Owned or Platform-Owned.

Use of Information

We may use personal information to:

• Facilitate and complete rentals
• Help resolve disputes between users
• Investigate damage, loss, or late returns
• Determine eligibility for refunds, reimbursements, or claims
• Enforce platform policies relating to item condition, shipping, returns, or user conduct

Disputes and Mediation

For Lender-Owned Items, we may assist in resolving disputes but do not assume responsibility for agreements between users except as required to operate the Platform.

For Platform-Owned Items, disputes are handled directly by Wear Something Borrowed in accordance with our internal policies.

Limitation of Responsibility

For Lender-Owned Items, we are not responsible for:

• Accuracy or condition of third-party listings
• Disputes between users outside platform policies
• Agreements made outside the Platform

For Platform-Owned Items, we are responsible only to the extent required under applicable consumer protection and rental laws.

We collect and use location-related information to:

• Coordinate shipping and delivery timelines
• Facilitate local pick-up and drop-off arrangements
• Improve safety and reduce fraud

This information is used solely for marketplace operations.

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Authentication and account login

• Fraud prevention and security
• Analytics and performance monitoring
• Personalization and user experience improvements
• Maintaining Platform functionality

Users may control or disable cookies through their browser settings; however, disabling cookies may affect the functionality and performance of certain features of the Platform.
